About the Auctioneer

Alissa Ford began her training at Sotheby’s in New York and joined Bonhams & Butterfields in Los Angeles in 2004. Leading 4-6 auctions per month, Alissa has worked as a full-time professional auctioneer and appraiser for the past 7 years. Alissa’s passion for auctioneering has brought her considerable business as a Charity Auctioneer and Auction Advisor for the Bay Area. After leading her first auction she discovered that her grandmother was a female auctioneer in the late 40s and early 50s. Alissa holds great pride in being a female auctioneer in a predominantly male field and carries on the passion that her grandmother possessed 70 years earlier. When she’s not on stage auctioneering, Alissa works as an independent art adviser and appraiser, specializing in late 19th / early 20th century California & American paintings
